Zubdat al-Tafsir, by Muhammad Sulayman 'Abd Allah al-Ashqar, is an abridged version of Ash-Shawkaani’ “Fat’h Al-Qadir”, may Allah have mercy upon him, where he reduced it to one statement in the interpretation of the Verse. But when the recitations are different, he opts for the interpretation corresponding to the recitation of Hafs, and derives from the study of the conditions of the narrators the outcome of the narrations which he compiled at the end of his research.
Al-Ashqar’s choice of this interpretation is due to its comprehensiveness, because, in addition to the interpretation, it includes a study of the rulings of the Noble Qur’an and jurisprudence of its teachings. In this Tafsir, Imam Ash-Shawkani opposed many heresies and deviant beliefs and adhered to the approach of the righteous ancestors (Salaf Salih).
