Since the majority of the followers of Islam are non native speakers of Arabic many of them may not have had the chance to learn it properly. As Muslims,we recite the Quran in Arabic and believe it will be our language in the hereafter.
Both the Quran and Hadith are generally in Arabic and and during translation, the translator is responsible for translating the meaning of Allah or His Messenger into another language according to their will.
Therefore, there was a need to develop a basic Arabic grammar book so that people could learn Arabic in order to understand the Quran,Hadith and other Islamic writings on their own.
Dr. V Abdur-Rahim met this need by compiling the book with
“دروس اللغة العربية لغير الناطقين بها” and divided it into eight parts according to the level of grade. Darussalam translated this into English and made relevant additions to the books.
