"A Qudsi hadith is a hadith whose meaning and connotations are from Allah Almighty, then the words of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)."
Importance:
Sheikh Awama says that in Hadith Qudsi both have Two NOORs as one is Noor e Ilahi and the other is Noor e Nabvi. In it, the attributes of God Almighty are described in relation to His close angels and servants. It has a great importance but less than Quran. Ahadith are the sayings, deeds and approvals of the Prophet under Divine guidance but some Ahadith hold a distinct place and are termed as Ahadith Qudsi.
Difference between Qur'an and Hadith Qudsi:
The words and meanings of the Quran are from Allah Almighty while the meaning of Hadith Qudsi is from Allah and the words are from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). The recitation of Holy Quran is Worship, while recitation of Hadith Qudsi is not performed as worship.
All the verses of the Quran are consecutive, while the hadith can also be Qudsi Khabar-e-Ahad. Holy Quran was revealed through Gabriel (peace be upon him) while the Holy Hadith can also be revealed directly. The Qur'an is recited in prayer, but not the hadith of Qudsi”. The Qur'an is related only to Allah Almighty, while the Hadith Qudsi is related first to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and then to Allah. The prophetic hadith consists only of says and verbs, while the hadith of Qudsi consist of says.
Hadith Qudsi is consists of 110 Hadith of Allah, it is to give knowledge about Allah, his power, blessings, and His commandments. Such Ahadith relating to the important aspects of daily life so that the readers may get benefited from it for the success in this life as well as in the Hereafter.
Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, chose from among His slaves the best of the scholars and gave them the honor of conveying the Prophet's (PBUH) sayings.
First and foremost among these upright scholars are the noble Companions (Sahabah),who learned the Revelation from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and then conveyed it precisely to those who came after them among the Followers (Tabi'een). Then the Tabi'een transmitted it to those who came after them, until there came the time of documentation when the Imams of hadiths compiled the books known as Jawami`,Masanid and Sunans.
One of the greatest compilations of the Sunnah and books of hadeeth is the Musnad by Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, which is organized into compilations of the Hadiths narrated by each Companion (Sahabi),starting with the 'ashra mubashshara.
